For the guy who started the draft craze
Jerry Jones this one is for you ( not that Jerry Jones folks )
Old article but a flashback into the past ...
NFL Draft guru’s ‘Drugstore List’ will be filling its final prescription
erry Jones is not in the business of selling secrets. What he’s been selling, for 35 years, is sweat.Though he shares a famous football name with the owner of the Dallas Cowboys, the retired pharmacist responsible for “The Drugstore List” claims no proprietary information about the NFL Draft. The strength of his rankings lies in his research, his contacts, his core belief that broad consensus trumps his own individual opinion and, at the risk of amateur psychology, a clearly compulsive personality.
“When I get a large list, I get obsessed and want to put it in order,” Jones said Thursday. “It could be a large list of anything. Once you get into doing things like that, it’s kind of like you’ve got to go mow the lawn.”
Before Mel Kiper Jr. finished high school, before his pompadour and his proclamations dominated draft analysis and turned a cottage industry into a multi-platform monstrosity, Jerry Jones was publishing rankings of football prospects and devoting a large proportion of his waking hours to that peculiar pursuit.

Re: For the guy who started the draft craze
I think it is fare to say the draft would not be what it is today without Jerry Jones and the guys who followed his lead in this hobby that is often as much or more work than a full time job called draftnick
