There were two low blocks on that play?
Suh can't get himself out of the doghouse.
Suh may have to wait for this kid to enter the league to lose the focus of Goofdell

That was a bad play, but he got that fine on name alone. I guarantee you, any other player in the entire league not named Harrison, would get a $7,500 fine for that, tops - if they didn't just call the penalty and leave it at that.
His rookie year cleat to the face pretty much sums up this guy's 'character'. He's out to play dirty and hurt people. Fuck him. I'm glad he got hit hard.
I thought it was just plain dirty your talking about a lineman trailing the play by like 15 yards with no chance to catch that guy and you dive into his knees? No need to block guy at all but if you wanted to you could of shoved him or went to his shoulder.
Is that the same sumbich player that likes to kick and stomp on players when they're down ?
Yeah, that's why, Steelreserve, that he didn't get it on name alone, but on name vs. history of stupid crap and not learning his lessons. Seriously, if it was him that put Pouncey out for the season, what would we all be saying, especially after he's had so many run-ins with the league?
Take him on the Steelers ANY DAY of the week...I'd trade the 11 on defense now for Suh. Just Suh and Jarvis Jones and they'll be on their way.
Thing is, just like Harrison, I don't think Suh has earned the whole rap he got. Apart from stepping on that guy, which I can forgive because it was the goddamn Packers, the things he gets in trouble for basically look like a guy playing angry and too fired up for the new brand of football. That block he got fined for was a shitty play, but you'd have a hard time convincing me it was premeditated or anything. It was actually part of the play that was still going on, and he took it too far. As far as I'm concerned, slamming guys into the ground, making hits that are downright mean, a lot of the things he's been in trouble for - that's a fucking effective way to play football if you ask me.
I'd take Suh in a heartbeat. He is a born Raider:wink02:. I see him the same way I see Big Ben... an old school football player from back in the day. Put him in Silver and Black and I'd be a happy guy.
If you want a dirty play how about the cutblock? I think it sucks that we're going to use it this season. And it sucks even more that the one time we used it we lost our starting center because of it.
whatever happened to keep you head on a swivel? he got it cause of his history, but i can see being reduced, if not this sets a presidence for later fines for other players
Add me to the list of people who would love Suh in black and gold. This guy was simply born and bred to be a Steeler. I'll take that nastiness on our defense any day.
That block was not intentionally a "dirty" hit, not from what I saw. You can't use the position of the ball carrier as an argument, Suh went to block a guy that was after the carrier.
Should he have NOT gone so low, maybe, but it's not like he had a choice to block high or low and chose low. He had a choice to either block or let the guy run free and he chose to block.
I think the criticism against Suh is a bit exaggerated.
DeCastro should be fined $100k too. $50k for the cut on Pouncey, another $50k for Steeler-on-Steeler crime.
Karma coming back at us maybe?
I wouldn't say born to be a Raider ... he doesn't half-ass it or complain about his own team enough, and as far as I know he doesn't keep up a ghetto thug facade and he's not in any serious off-the-field trouble. Sorry, but he was never meant to wear the Silver & Black.
I asked about that block in another thread. We see that exact same block being made several times a game by interior linemen. Yes, you're not allowed to make that block out in the open field, but I don't see why everyone treats it like it was such a horrible thing he did and worthy of a suspension. Assuming Decastro wasn't intentionally trying to take out Pouncey (I won't rule it out), his block was FAR worse than Suh's and there hasn't been a peep out of the media about THAT being dirty.
Actually, I think Suh said to himself, "Alright bitch let's see how YOU like getting chopped..." BAM!
It really didn't look especially dirty or underhanded to me. Yeah, it was too low and a little behind the play, but it's not like one of those completely flagrant late hits, or a cheapshot after a guy's pulled up. As someone else pointed out, that was probably the only way to get an effective block on the guy. Did he need to block the guy? Probably not. But the play was definitely still going on, and the opponent was still chasing it. I'm not a fan of blocks in the legs either, but there are a ton of reasons why you'd do that other than just because "Fuck this, I'm going to try and injure this guy."
I personally would not want Suh. It's one thing to play hard and tough, it's quite another to be completely dirty. No thank you.
