Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
It hasn't taken long for Plaxico Burress to settle back in with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Quarterback Charlie Batch told NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala that Burress has looked sharp in practice since signing with the team Tuesday. The 35-year-old pass-catcher was described by teammates as rust-free and ready to play.
Plaxico has also taken on a leadership role. Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders said Burress was vocal during film study, pointing out weaknesses in the secondary of the Cleveland Browns, who the Steelers face Sunday.
Wideout Mike Wallace confirmed to Kinkhabwala the team has written Burress into the game plan as a red-zone target after he pulled in eight touchdowns with the New York Jets a season ago. Burress hasn't played since then and he hasn't been in Black and Gold since 2004.

Again, Rosetta Stone was way overplayed.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
Burress is old as dirt in football years.
But it sounds as though his maturity may be a good thing.
I am glad we "pulled the trigger" on him.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
Who knows, he may pleasantly surprise us. It certainly sounds like he's much more mature.

Every man deserves a chance. Take that to your chaplain.

All right, take all your "shots" at him now.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
Let's just see what he does on his 2nd stint before we drive the stake.

Maybe he can "dodge a bullet" while in Pittsburgh.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
He had an impressive drop

To be fair that was a shitty throw. Just like most of them were today.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
I'm not getting down on Plax just yet (although my expectations aren't that high either). Anybody in his situation would need a couple of weeks. I'm still interested in seeing him when he comes in on multiple receiver sets after Brown comes back. I hope he can create some poor match-ups for other teams.

But it's a catch he should make 99 times out of a hundred.
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
A receiver that has been with the team less than a week is the least of our problems.
There is a much bigger issues with the Steelers....

No way. He had to lay out just to get to that ball.

It ABSOLUTELY was a hard to catch ball....
Re: Plaxico Burress impresses Pittsburgh Steelers
I find it hilarious that anyone would even complain about Plex in this game. Plex is about #53 on the list of problems on this team.

Your point? That's his job. The ball hit him in both hands.
