Mike Adams and David DeCastro will both start Thursday night

When the Steelers made Mike Adams and David DeCastro their first two picks of the draft, it wasn’t hard to see them stepping right into starting roles on the offensive line.

That’s just what they’ve done. Coach Mike Tomlin said Adams and DeCastro will start at left tackle and right guard, respectively, on Thursday night against the Eagles when the Steelers kick off their preseason schedule.

All reports out of Steelers camp have Adams looking ready for the job of protecting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s blind side. The team’s decision to sign Max Starks strengthens the depth, assuming Starks is able to get off the PUP list and onto the field, but it doesn’t appear his presence will push Adams out of the starting job.

This just made the first Pre-season game worth watching. I'd watch it anyway, but normally, it's just a casual thing. I'll be quite a bit more interested now.

Starting? I'm really surprised. That means they will be going up against ones(1's), and protecting the franchise QB while doing it. It looks like they are farther along than most people thought.

I'm looking forward to seeing them both on the field.

Awesome! Too bad Colon got his foot/ankle stepped on/rolled up on...or we could see the potential future starting OL in its entirety. But I'd rather then let Colon sit then force him to play....I'm excited to see the young guys go! RUN WITH IT BOYS!!

Im looking forward to this but the eagles have a good pass rush so i hope they dont blow any aaignments.

Damn that will be interesting! Especially because Tomlin said that they probably play more series than the rest of the starters... "the starters will only get 2 series, but some of the young lineman could get more playing time"

Worth watching it at 1.30 AM here in Switzerland, can't wait!
