Ravens Safety Ed Reed wants a new contract

The 31-year old Reed missed 4 games last season and despite 3 years left on his current contract is seeking a new deal from the Ravens.
The Pro-Bowl safety recorded 46 INT's in his 9-year career and is still considered one of the better safeties in the game.
Reed is scheduled to earn $6 million in 2010, $6.5 million in 2011 and $7.2 million in 2012 on his current contract.

Like I said in another thread...he is their Troy.
If he can't play till December they have a worse secondary than Cleveland. 8-8.

the colts are in the position to decide whether or not they can cut sanders and his high salary (which is = troy/ed) or just live with the fact that they will only get 8-10 games out of him a year.
but then again, the colts actually go to, and even win superbowls.
i hope ed holds the team hostage. that will hold us over until ray rice thinks he is chris johnson, and joe flacco thinks he should be paid like matt ryan, stafford, or the other qb who plays for lions/rams.

He's rehabbing an injury, and may miss the first 3-4 games of the season. Sounds like he's not planning on playing the full 3 years left on his contract, and wants whatever he can get now. This may be his last season.

Got news for you buddy. Last year proved the same thing about Pittsburgh and Troy.
