The NFL fined Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Raheem Brock for last Sunday's hit on Ben Roethlisberger that briefly knocked the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback out of the game.

Of course, he responded on Twitter with:

Fined by the NFL today for being 'TRIPPED' by an o'lineman and fallin into the QB's legs! Smh if I only had super powers to stop mid air.

Personally, I think it's Roger Gooddeal's way of attempting to silence the conspiracy theorists who say players never get fined for improper hits on Big Ben (now he can point back at this and say...See, I do fine other teams.) :P

Yup, coming back to stir the pot.

(That being said, it was a crappy shot against Big Ben and should have been fined based on how players get fined every time Tom Brady gets sneezed at.)

I guess Mr. Brock didn't get the memo from Harrison's "conversation" last year with Goodell regarding the avoidance of helmet-to-helmet collisions when the offensive player lowers their head a split second prior to impact - defensive players are fully expected to defy the laws of physics.

Proof that he needs to stop complaining and pay his fine.

It it were up to me, he would be strung up by his thumb nails...but I'm just a tad biased!

I have to agree with you here in principle.

The hit that didn't even draw a flag was just as bad. I guess the ref made his 1 call. That's more than Ben usually gets. :noidea:

Bullshit fine.

It's a BS fine based on how football SHOULD be played. However, based on the Don't Look At Tom Brady Wrong rule...it's a perfectly legit fine (only surprising that it was tagged by hitting Big Ben...whom the NFL does seem to have the propensity for looking the other way.)

Being tripped and not being able to stop mid air is bullshit. Plus the fact that any penalty went in Roethlisberger's favor is bullshit. Lol...

I do remember laughing about the hit and a said to a friend, I wonder if they will retaliate by hitting Jackson to which he replied, they are already retalliating by not hitting him. I did laugh a little.

I hear it all being from Portland and surrounded by Seattle fans with zero knowledge of football.. It's always something.. Besides the fact that the Seahawks suck.....

Even though I don't like Deion Sanders but, even he said if that same hit was done to (Precious) Brady that player would have been stoned.

If it happened to brady, the fine would have been at least double if not tripple.

Can't agree with this fine, player was tripped. If not, he probably would have nailed Ben pretty good, above the knees.

Our O Line has to step up. It would be a shame to see Ben get seriously injured.

I guess Seawhiners fans were too focused on thier own team to pay attention to the Steelers the entire 2nd half of the regular season

Did Kemo Von Olhoffen get fined for hitting Carson Palmers knees? IMO it was the same kind of hit, but Gilbert stuck his left leg out and tripped Brock.

Bullshit fine, but part of the new reality.
