Charlie Batch will start and Ben Roethlisberger won't play when the Steelers conclude their preseason Thursday night in Carolina, Coach Mike Tomlin said today.

Tomlin said three other players won't play because of injuries -- cornerback Ike Taylor, wide receiver Jerricho Cotchery and rookie linebacker Chris Carter -- and indicated several veterans might not play as well...........

Good, the Ravenkiller needs to prepare for his date with the rats coming up!

And yes keep his backups healthy!

Well, if they are so fragile as to not be able to last a game, then wouldn't it be better for them to get hurt now so the team has time to get another vet in there?

Good. Charlie needs more reps being the #2 now. I just hope he doesn't tear his ACL tripping over an empty Gatorade bucket on the sideline while trying to get onto the field.

That is sound advice. It might also get BB revving for opening day. If we make it a healthy start expect BB to roll over the Ravens like never before. The dude is going to make this a signature season, I can smell it.
