View Full Version : Bires: Brown's bonehead taunt nearly overshadows big game

We can only imagine what Mike Tomlin said to Antonio Brown after yet another big play by the Steelers' most exciting player of this preseason.
It probably went something like this:
"Nice play, kid. But don't ever point the football again at someone you beat ... even though you did burn him for 77 yards."

Tomlin was correct to rein in the Steelers' electrifying second-year wide receiver after his 77-yard touchdown catch in the second quarter of Saturday's preseason win. Not even established stars should be called for taunting an opponent.
Luckily for Brown, his 15-yard penalty for taunting Falcons cornerback Brent Grimes came in a preseason game. But when it's time to play games that count, such bonehead mistakes are inexcusable.............

Antonio Brown on endzone antics "i was too excited, man, i don't know what i was doing" said it while smiling "hines showed me dance moves"

And don't run your credit card in between a waitress's breasts and get charged with sexual assault only to plead down to a lesser offense... oh wait, that's okay as long as you're not a Steeler.

Good for him. I love Brown's enthusiasm! I am sure he will learn on the excessive celebrating.

If Hines showed him those dance moves, I think he needs a few more lessons.

He is young...he will learn to calm himself.

I must say if I was having the preseason he's having I'd have a tough time controling my emotions too.

I don't think it was just pointing the football, he was hanging around like a spider monkey on the railing after he got in too lol. It's alright, we'll get by, he'll learn.

Considering some of the asstard antics both T.O. and HisCrotchoStinko have pulled after TD grabs which they weren't flagged for, I'd say Antonio's celebration was quite mild.

What's next - flagging the "Lambeau Leap"?

He's young.. He got excited. Tomlin clearly gave him a pep talk. I don't think it'll be a problem in the future.

Someone got a sexual assault rap for that??? Damn, I'd be in prison for the crap I've pulled in bars if I were in the NFL!

This is, IMO, even more retardation from the league. Of the two (pointing the ball or "the dance"), the dancing was much more classless, ignorant and inflammatory, IMO. Why can't these guys just act like they've been there before, hand the ball to the ref, and run to the sideline to be congratulated like Barry Sanders did? Maybe they can say it's taunting in college, but showing the ball to a DB you just smoked isn't taunting. Dancing like an idiot is.
