How? Antonio Brown has better lateral quickness, hands, and body control. Ridiculous body control, and he showed it in the first two preseason games too.

Brown has outplayed him this preseason so far.

He's reminds me of a juiced up Santonio Holmes... If he can play at that level all through the year we'll strike terror in defenses...

Defenses are dammed if they do double cover Wallace (Because of "downtown" Brown), and dammed if they don't double Wallace.

Our WRs look phenomenal. I think we're gonna air it out more this year and Ben will have a career year. I'm a bit concerned about the lack of a running game though.

Agreed. Hopefully a good passing game can open up the run...

We will see. It is still early and we just played two very good teams.

Agreed, however, I am more concerned about Ben getting killed than our running game. The running game will be fine, the pass protection is still a weakness.

Are you kidding me, he's been shredding not just starting cornerbacks, but QUALITY starting cornerbacks ALL preseason.

The most amazing thing about this conversation is that Emmanuel Sanders was graded higher than Brown at the end of last season. What an incredible recieving corps when Sanders returns!

The question will be... how long can Hines Ward hold a starting spot with Sanders breathing down his neck?

If it helps the team win, I'm sure Hines would take a partial role. But he's been pretty decent this preseason as well...

The NFL probably made the Steelers cut Sweed because it would just be too unfair if we had him too...

How come Hines??? The man is the heart of the receiving corps, he has the Gusto to make the tough catches in traffic and can lay a hit like nobody's business. Maybe I'm biased but I don't think anyone is breathing down Hines neck. To my knowledge Hines hasn't retired yet I'm sure he's going to keep on playin' and makin' plays when nobody expects him to. I can understand people from other teams knocking Hines but I can't for the life of me understand how any Steeler fan can.

Maybe I'm the only one but the reports of Hines Demise seem to be a little pre-mature. Trust me Hines will know when it's time to hang 'em up until then I can't wait to see him play every game!!! Go Hines!!! Go Steelers!!!

That's true, but I never put much stock into pre-season play especially the 1st 2 games... Everybody is pretty rusty still for those 1-2 games, and considering the off season this year and players being a little behind schedule in team practice... just my opinion... But he looked absolutely amazing for sure yesterday. I loved how the whole team performed over all. Defensively the Sp Teams sucked as usual, but I don't doubt the team is serious about another SB appearance.

This is what I've thought going into the last 4 seasons. Hines is "due" for a drop-off, but he always seems to deliver.

86WARD
08-29-2011, 12:24 PM
Hines: when you see him start "dropping off" then you start that conversation. Until then, there's nothing but his age that gives you the thought of even talking about that.

Hines won't step down till he gets his 1000th reception and his third superbowl then Sanders will take his spot.

Agreed....the Sanders / Brown competition was very productive last season and it looks like Brown is REALLY raising the bar...

The thing that Impresses me about Brown is the Santonio-like factors in coming in the clutch. The 58 yd bomb against the Ravens . (Where everyone held their breath at Heinz Field), and the 3rd down catch against the Jets. This preseason hes gone against good cornerbacks and he seems to thrive off competition. Im impressed, wasnt he a DB before he became a receiver?
