The other day before the Steelers broke camp, Troy Polamalu made it perfectly clear what he wanted out of his first preseason game.
"Health," he said. "That's what everybody tries to get out of it. Just stay healthy. Fine-tune your tackling ... read your keys ... all those things ... but most important, health."

How encouraging it was Thursday night for Polamalu that he did get through the exhibition against the Eagles unscathed.
While that may not seem like that big of a deal, it is. Polamalu is to the Steelers' defense what Ben Roethlisberger is to the offense.....

Time to put the bubble wrap on him until Sept. 11.

another stupid new rule: QB can't be blocked when the turnover is being returned. James Harrison said he had a shot on him but had to peel off. LUCKY VICK, he just stared Death in the face and survived

But it didn't stop vick from cheapshotting Troy on the return.

Woodley didn't like Vick's low hit on Polamalu following INT return,

Typical Troy:

Polamalu's response? No big deal. “I’ve done that plenty of times to people as well. That’s the nature of the game,” he said.

Would've been ironic if Vick took a knee to the side of his helmet on that play and wound up with a concussion, no?

I cringed when he got hit on the INT return.

As Tomlin once said to Troy, "You Play Stupid Sometimes" with a big fat grin on Tomlin's face (I can't remember the game)

hes way to important for us to be trying to find the endzone in the preseason. i hope he doesn't make another int until week 1

Yep, playing balls out is part of what makes him a great player, but it's a curse in meaningless games. He could have really gotten hurt badly on that play.

Or he stared death in the face and never even knew it!

If QB's can't be blocked on int's then they should not be allowed to tackle or assist in the tackle what so ever.

Amen.

IMHO, if a QB doesn't want to be hit when there's a turnover, then he should walk his ass off the field. Otherwise he should be fair fucking game. If he wants to get his nose dirty and try to make a tackle, then he should be allowed to be blocked.

It's just the mentality of a football player, no matter the situation, preseason or Super Bowl, you try to make a play.

But I liked what I saw from Troy tonight. Especially, the play were he read the offense and cut in front of the Tight End Celek and almost got the pick.

Very pleased with the team's overall performance tonight. Maybe now the one's who've been predicting doom & demise since the Redskins game will go back into hiding.
