Steelers FB:

"The Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have placed WR Limas Sweed on the Waived/Injured List, which means he will be released when his shoulder injury heals. The team also waived TE Eugene Bright from the PUP List. The Steelers have signed DB Kevin Dockery and DB Macho Harris. Dockery will wear No. 37, and Harris will wear No. 31."

Thoughts?

Signed for depth. But if he can contribute in any way, bring 'em in.

The times I saw him play in Philly, he was awful...

If I remember right, he was a pretty good player at VT, and he wouldn't be the first player that was on a couple of different teams before he hit his stride. We can use help as CB anyway. Hope he works out.

Probably for depth since we are stretched pretty tight at CB.

The Steelers cut ties with Limas Sweed, their second-round draft pick in 2008, as they placed the enigmatic wide receiver on the waived/injured list.

The Steelers also waived tight end Eugene Bright to make room on the roster for defensive backs Kevin Dockery and Macho Harris.

The two were signed to add depth to a secondary that has been plagued by injuries.

Dockery, a cornerback, played for the New York Giants from 2006-09 and the St. Louis Rams last season. He has started 11 games and has four interceptions.

Harris, a fifth-round pick of the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, started eight games at free safety as a rookie. He played three games for the Washington Redskins last season, starting one of them.

Cornerback figures to be Harris` primary position with the Steelers

I have to admit, I am both a little saddened and a little relieve now that the Sweed era is over. So be it.

He's going to be put on IR. Does he have another year left on his deal?

We signed dockery too, while hes not a huge signing i do think he could give gay some competition. As far as harris goes i just really dont enough about him.

Harris was a good college player, below average with the Eagles, but I believe he's got a good back story and a good character guy. He might be successful with the Steelers. I don't mind the signing...but I'm not having high hopes for him...
