It wasn’t what it seemed.

What it seemed to be was a case of a rookie deciding that he had had enough, that he couldn’t or wouldn’t put himself through the mental and physical rigors anymore, that he had decided to quit the team. After all, Dorian Brooks already had left camp after a few days, and he was a guy good enough to be on the team’s active roster for Super Bowl XLV. So why not an undrafted rookie free agent?

But the truth of the matter is that John Clay (http://www.steelersuniverse.com/team/roster/john-clay/2ad92b91-f15f-48a6-b561-0841bb9dc6a8/) wasn’t trying to quit. He was just doing what he thought he had been told to do...............

That's good to hear. I like Clay and the incident that was first reported really changed my attitude towards him.

i like the feistiness of that coach not settling for mediocrocy! but also feel sorry a bit for clay getting kicked off the field at the same time even if it was just the sidelines

When guys are sucking they get told to hit the sidelines all the time. He must have really sucked for him to think Wilson wanted him to hit the showers. I still have hope for Clay to make the PS. Dwyer looked like Cedric Humes out there. :(
