Great numbers career. Cause that's ALL that Randy ever cared about. That and getting paid. To me, the GREATEST thing ever to happen to me is seeing that Bum have to retire with NO Super Bowl " Bling " He definitely didn't deserve any cause he was a scumbag teammate. He was the MAIN KARMA reason why the Pats never won anything while he was there. I thank GOT that neither he, or the Gangsta known as " Burress signed with us.

The real pisser of it is he'll go into the HoF more than likely on his first ballot (along with the giant horse's ass known as T.O.) and Hines will be made to wait for years after he becomes eligible before he gets in, assuming he gets in at all. Moss isn't the only one fixated on numbers at the expense of everything else, there's a large number of myopic HoF voters who are as well. And then there's the "Steelers HoF saturation" bias Hines will also have to contend with, which has kept guys like Dirt and L.C. out to boot.

Not surprising at all. I said he wouldn't be playing this year....especially before Week One.

Could have been better than Rice if he had Rice's work ethic. Definitely has more natural talent than Rice, but no where near the heart and work ethic... Wasted potential.

I don't mind if Moss is a first ballot HOF. The HOF is basically based on " Numbers " Not as much as the Intangables that a Ward brung. But with that said, I really don't think this retirement will last. Moss just wants to go to a Playoff/Super Bowl ready team, and wants to start. Not to mention Moss probably doesn't want to go to a training camp either. So rather then just wait, he announces that he is retiring,,and then waits til a WR goes down on a team that is on his list of potential playoff teams. That way his asking price can also go up as well.

But all I care about is that this clown NEVER wears a Steelers uniform. And that he NEVER gets a SB ring.

Yep. God knows what kind of numbers Moss could have put up if he didn't half-ass it about 70% of the time....

I don't think he gets in as a first round Hall of Famer...

I was listening to Mike and Mike this morning and Golic listed the cheats, colts and Steelers as teams where Moss could go and be dealt with.

No thanks I would rather have hop along cassidy, (Plex) than moss.

Yep more than likely the media love to love on moss and t.o. and can come up with tons of excuses on why it took so long for Stallworth to get in.

Golic is talking out of his ass. Cheats got Ocho, they won't go after Moss, Dolts have Garcon, the future HOF'er (sarcasm). Moss would have to block for the Steelers so that will never happen.

Let me clear this up he was talking from the stand point of teams that could handle his malcontent shinannigans not that any of those teams would want moss. Basically saying they all have strong leadership. Sorry I shoulda been clearer on this.

Randy Moss will likely go into Hall, but that doesn't excuse him for being the total ass he was his entire career. People will remember the spectacular seasons and plays he had, but they'll also remember him quitting on teams and playing when he felt like it. The dude established himself as a cancer, which is why at the Age of 33 (Still fairly capable age for a WR), no one in the NFL wanted him.

He really could've been one of the All-Time great Wide Recievers to play the game and even better than Rice. He had the stuff and the skills to do it. But he only put in 70% effort his entire career. Randy played only when he felt like playing. If you ask me, Moss was the first of his kind in a generation. Primadonna Wide Reciever who only cared about the numbers and the lights but nothing else. Moss could've been an NFL legend. Instead he'll go down an underachieving headcase with gifted skills.

I too am happy he is without a ring. His half-assed attitude doesn't deserve it.

WOW! Didn't see this coming. IMO one of the best receivers to play the game. Will probably be remembered for his lack of effort and the fact that he was an asshole rather than the spectacular way he played the game. That's karma for you.

This is a great way to go for Moss. His old character issues didn't reappear, even when he had a tough final season. He really matured over his career.

I dont' think he makes it into the HoF. Think about it, when people vote, his lazy attitude IN THE GAME will be a HUGE roadblock. Nonone wants a "quitter" in the HoF, regardless of their talent level. Inducting a quitter into the HoF would invalidate the HoF as a "shrine".

He'll make to the hall and should rather easily. Not sure he'll get first ballot...there's a nice logjam at the WR position...

this is outstanding news because i won't have to read absurd posts in the steelers' forum asking for the steelers to sign moss.

Not a first ballot Hall of Famer - Michael Irvin wasnt a first ballot so I cant see Moss being one

This guy was probably the most talented and skilled WR EVER. Yes I said EVER, but he let character issues get in the way and he is now just "one of the greats".

He could have separated himself from the rest if he would have played every down 100%.

With that being said he did mature some over his career and to be honest I do not think we have seen the last of Randy Moss.
