The Steelers are bringing back another one of their unrestricted free agents as veteran nose tackle Chris Hoke has signed a one-year contract with the team.

Hoke, who is going into his 10th NFL season, recorded 12 tackles in 15 games in 2010. The 6-2, 305-pounder has been a valuable backup to Casey Hampton since making the Steelers as an undrafted free agent in 2001..........

I have some "guarded" optimism that Anthony Gray may be a diamond in the rough.

The Steelers needed to sign him because they have ignored the position in free agency and the draft

i really like hoke! glad he is back is the blue collar type of steelers player that always brings his lunch pail, but will never have sack or tackle numbers, but IMO he is a very important part of the Dline none the less.

Glad he's back. Gray,McLendon and Sonny Harris will probably battle it out for the last spot on the defensive line...if they keep 7 defensive linemen.

Very good thing to see! Hoke is usually unsung, but is always very consistent when he's in the game. He does exactly what the NT is supposed to do in our defense: he clogs up the middle and occupies multiple offensive lineman so the the other guys can make plays. The fact that regardless of whether Hoke or Big Snack is in the game we don't give up yardage thru the middle and our pass rush is effective is evidence of how good he is, stats be damned.

Good to have Hoke back. Hopefully everyone is right about Gray and he can take over when Big Snack retires.
