Sanders sits out practice
By Scott Brown, PITTSBURGH TRIBUNE-REVIEW
Sunday, July 31, 2011

Emmanuel Sanders didn't practice Saturday, as the Steelers held the second-year receiver out of drills for precautionary reasons.

Coach Mike Tomlin said Sanders may be sidelined for a couple of days with foot "discomfort."

It appears the Steelers will closely monitor Sanders during training camp, and for good reason. He went under the knife after he broke his right foot in Super Bowl XLV. And in April, Sanders said, he had surgery on his left foot.

"They went in and put a screw in because they said at midseason it could break," said Sanders, who caught 28 passes for 376 yards and a pair of touchdowns last season.

Neither surgery, Sanders said, will hold him back this season.
