Carolina Panthers wide receiver Steve Smith broke his arm during a flag football game at his football camp this weekend.

He should be fine by the regular season, he still has well over two months to recover. It sucks for them that he will miss training camp, and most likely all of preseason, but he has been in that system long enough to catch up quickly when he comes back

He'll be back in time for the games that actually count. At least by missing TC, he won't be punching any of his team's defensive backs in the face.

That is unfortunate and seems like the bad luck is with the Panthers early this offseason. He has over two months so I think he will be ready for the regular season, just may miss most of the pre season.

Panthers | Steve Smith may need two months to recover

Carolina Panthers WR Steve Smith (arm) had a plate inserted into his left arm Sunday, June 20, after suffering a broken bone playing flag football over the weekend, writes Steve Reed, of CarolinaGrowl.com. General manager Marty Hurney said Smith feels terrible about it and is focusing on rehabilitation. Smith tried to break up a pass in flag football, slipped and broke his arm when he fell. It is the same arm he broke a year ago, but in a different place. Overall, the injury is considered minor and it should heal between six and eight weeks.

This indeed sucks, but I think Smith will find a way to recover quickly and in time for the start of the season.

Agreed I think he will be ready for the start of the season a broken arm should heal pretty quick.

Feel bad for him. He's one of my favorite players in the league and even though I think he will be ready for the season, it will be interesting to see how this effects him considering he broke the same arm at the end of the season.
