On Friday, the Player 2K series investigated the best defensive tackles of the 2000s. The problem with accurately trying to gauge an interior lineman’s play is knowing what criteria to use. Defensive tackles — especially nose tackles — are not big sack guys, and generally don’t make a heckuva lot of tackles … much less interceptions, fumble returns for touchdowns, etc.

Besides that one historic year in 2000, the Ravens Defensive units have done nothing especially noteworthy. Never been to Super bowls, never won Super Bowls, never carried their teams there.

Ray Lewis is the only guy on the Ravens Defense with a ring, and that was from a decade ago.

Being in the same division as the Bengals and Browns it's difficult to use stats like that. Playing them each twice adds some big time padding. Not all divisions have Bengals and Browns.
