Pain and the ability to withstand it is different from person to person … And nothing underscores that more than a recent report that came out about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.
It was reported most recently by Brandon over at Acme Packing Company that Big Ben played with a broken foot during the last part of the 2010 season, including the Super Bowl where the Packers defeated the Steelers.
Now flash back with me to the NFC Championship game where we all saw Jay Cutler limp off the field and then stand dejected on the sideline wrapped in his cape while his team lost to the Packers.
Looking back, Lovie Smith probably made the right move by taking Cutler out of the game not so much because of the injury, but because the quarterback was ineffective.
But with the severity of that injury Cutler was said to have suffered, one has to wonder … What would Ben have done? .........
