Why is everybody in the Steelers Kool Aid ?

----------------------------------------------------------

Article:

It seems every time a running back is on the market, the Steelers seem to be in the mix. First it was Tiki Barber, and now it’s Saints running back Reggie Bush.

Bush’s name popped up today in a piece at Yahoo Sports by Jason Cole.

What if Moore is no longer a Steeler? Isn't he a free agent? Let's say....

Mendenhall
Redman
Bush
Dwyer
Batch

Is Bush really Steelers worthy? I would say his career has been more name than game.

If Bush is released, he is going to want more money than what I think he is worth. He is going to want a very prominent role in the offense. He isn't even Willie Parker in his prime.

Reggie is too expensive, especially for what you get. He's basically a rich man's Kevin Faulk.

2010

Redman, Isaac CAR 52 YDS 247 AVG 4.8 TDS 0

Moore, Mewelde CAR 33 YDS 99 AVG 3.0 TDS 0

Dwyer, Jonathan CAR 9 YDS 28 AVG 3.1 TDS 0

Redman didn't do half bad last year. Offensive line should be better too.

Yep, it would sure hurt if Mendy went down but overall our RB's are pretty good.

He'll want too much money.

No, I don't want a disappointment at a position we don't need

My thoughts exactly. I like our stable of RB's just fine.

Bush is the receiving weapon that Arians would covet. Way better talent than Paul Palmer. I don't see it happening.
Moore is gone, Batch will replace him

If Bush agreed to come in as the 3rd down back and a back up receiver, I'd be all for it. But the contract would have to equal the playing time. I do think that Bush would be an upgrade over MeMo. But he simply hasn't shown himself to be an every down back IMO.

Imagine the kind of fits the offense would give defenses with Bush, Wallace, Sanders, Hines, etc... on 3rd downs. Picture Ben emptying the backfield on 3rd down with all of those guys on the field.

If we do let Moore go, and Bush comes at the right price, I don't think it would be a bad thing at all. "The right price" is another issue altogether.

Plus I know a Bengals fan who is a huge Reggie Bush fan and the Steelers signing him would just kill her. :heh:

Other then Mendy and even Redman I don't see our backs being as strong as some may think they are.

I mean Batch and Dwyer?? really? we have no clue what either is going to do.

Bush is probably too expensive but hes better then those two for sure and even MeMo.

Why not? Had he been drafted in the third or fourth round, he'd be seen as having a decent career for where he was drafted. I could care less about drafts once a player has a year or two under his belt. He is only a disappointment to the Saints. He's another available player to us and every other team.
