Oh how I wish this is the time that Sweed lives up to his potential. C'mon Limas, be a champion.

It's his last chance in Pitt. He will either have a huge season that lives up to all his potential or he will be on the Tommy Gun bus out of the Burg.

Hope he can live up to his potential this time. If he does our WR corp could be set for a while....

It would be great to see him start producing the way he was hoped to, but I'm not holding my breath. To this point, we haven't seen anything out of him. Granted, you can't make sweeping judgements of a player based on a couple of mistakes made early in his career, but those big drops on national television will unfortunately hang over him until he does something to change everyone's mind. This is indeed his last chance here, hopefully he will make the most of it. If he does, we truly will have a receiving corps that will make the league tremble.

It's good to see that Ben and others are working out. This is Sweed's last chance, he better make something of it.

@Steelersdepot (http://twitter.com/Steelersdepot) I talk with Limas regularly. One of the nicest people I know. He has got his head on straight and is ready to compete.

Can you imagine Steeler Nation if Sweed is the intended target to catch a TD pass and win the next Super Bowl. Talk about heart stopping moments. Of course I would hope he catches it, but the anticipation would be daunting.

i still give him a chance. i remember the afc championship game vs the ravens he got wide open but dropped the ball of course.. but still he managed to get wide open [even though it was probably a blown coverage or the ravens figured he can't catch so don't cover him]

Everybody's missing the obvious here. Our guys are working together and the media hasn't even picked up on it. (big woohoo for Drew Brees, though!) I think it's great that Ben is working with the receivers and he must feel that Sweed is worth spending some time with.

If he does, our receiving corps would rival Rodgers'.

When we drafted him, I was ready to be the president of his fan club. I have all the stuff ready, just haven't been able to use it!

Interesting Podcast that has an interview with Limas Sweed

Jump to the 32.32 mark to hear the start of the interview

http://www.steelersdepot.com/2011/05/steelers-podcast-the-terrible-podcast-58-limas-sweed-interview-episode/comment-page-1/

During the interview it shows the level of intellect that the University of Texas players enter the NFL with.

It sounds to me like Limas is admitting that he wasnt NFL ready and didnt have the necessary background knowledge to pick up the playbook.

It also sounds like he never watched film. He suggests that he got by on physical ability and talent and because of this he was really caught out in the pros.

With the emergence of Wallace, Sanders, and Brown last year, it's essentially Lima Bean's last shot to stick around.
