The Ravens know they have to defeat their AFC North enemies to reach their goal.

In a town-hall meeting between General Manager Ozzie Newsome and season-ticket holders on Wednesday night, one of the most popular topics was how the Ravens would defeat the hated Pittsburgh Steelers.

Newsome believes Baltimore can roll over that hump by executing more explosive plays on both offense and defense, and the Ravens took steps to remedy that situation last weekend by drafting shutdown cornerback Jimmy Smith and home-run-hitting wideout Torrey Smith.

“When Ben [Roethlisberger] likes to run around and take his time, hopefully he can be running around and Jimmy can get an interception and take that to the house,” explained Newsome. No, the Steelers aren't in their heads. Not at all.

To me it is comical because, especially after the beginning of last season with Ben on the shelf for the first four games all of the so called experts had us pronounced dead. The we go not only to win the AFC north make the super bowl. The rats know we have their number. They make every excuse in the book except admit that the steelers just are a better team.

I love these gems...

"LOL the squeelers definately dont scare the ravens. the ravens are bigger, better, faster, stronger.. were the #1 smashmouth team in the NFL. we do the intimidating around here."

Then what's the problem?

The bottom line is we have more talent on our team and better players. The only difference is they play with more chemistry which we will have starting this year. From this point forward they will have some catching up to do with the Ravens!

Whatever you say, Purple Browns.

You know, living in Baltimore's head is getting to be interesting.

Yep, the big, bad Ravens certainly aren't scared of Pittsburgh.

The Ravens (owners, coaches, and fanbase) are quickly turning into a bitter, pettier NFL version of the Washington Capitals. Owned by a Pittsburgh team and tired of repeated failures against them, they in their pent-up frustration have subconsciously developed a inferiority complex against said team. They're loud, annoying, and hateable not because they're a good team, they're hateable because they are turning into the biggest sack of whiny pusses out there. They wanna be the Steelers, and they can't. The Steelers will always be the Steelers. While Baltimore will always be the Purple Browns from Cleveland.

Must be a Maryland thing. I mean, Baltimore just a drive away from Washington.

The Steelers build their team to win games, to compete for Super Bowl championships. The rest of the division build's their team's to compete with the Steelers.

The Ravens and their 'fans' are pathetic. They have more excuses than anyone I've ever heard. All they do is cry about the Steelers.

Actually, technically we don't have to beat them to win the division....

Just sayin'....

But we will beat them though. Like always....

This picture truly describes Harbaugh's career

I've never seen Jimmy Smith as a "shut down corner", so let's see how that works out for Ozzie. Considering ben's history, my money's on him

Jimmy Smith will now have a lot more money available for drugs. Just saying...

Playin' it smart, eh?

In all seriousness, I am having a harder time getting into football with all that's going on. I didn't even follow the draft all that closely as I normally would have done. Fall means two things to me: bowhunting and NFL football. I do not want to consider either one or the other missing come September.

Don't worry Rats, Troy will retire in 3 or 4 years and maybe you'll have a chance then.
