Week Two game between Titans and Steelers could be a first
Posted by Mike Florio on June 14, 2010 6:34 PM ET

As the Titans and the NFL continue to process information relating to the weekend assault "citation" issued to Tennessee quarterback Vince Young, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com points out a scheduling wrinkle that could become incredibly pertinent come September.

The Titans are schedule to face the Steelers in Week Two. And with Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger already facing a suspension that will cover at least the first four games, both starting quarterbacks could be suspended in the same game for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.

That said, the league likely won't suspend Young, given that he has no prior violations of the Personal Conduct Policy. In 2008, then-Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter coughed up a game check after pleading no contest to assaulting former Bengals tackle Levi Jones at a Las Vegas casino.

Then again, things have changed lately in the NFL, in light of Roethlisberger's penalty. But it would indeed be a shocker if Young walks out of 280 Park Avenue with a suspension of any duration.

No Goodell will let VY slip away with just a fine while Ben sits on the bench.

The NFL personal conduct policy is so wishy washy, im all hears on what Vince gets. Cause Goodell says "just cuase you didnt break the law doesnt mean you didnt break his rules"

If he doesnt do anything , i guess the NFL condowns starting fights in strip clubs

I predict this will reak of double standard and nothing will come of it.
Ben was wrong and set bad example with his actions, and choices, no denying that.
Vince young is no different and deserves same treatment as Ben., maybe not same suspension but same treatment from the NFL.
And it sounds like if anyone needs an evaluation then Vince Young certainly does.... Heck they made Skippy Reed go for one...

They just won't let the Ben saga go away just about every other article they bring up Ben and his troubles.

NFL players actually charged with crimes should be punished at least as much as those who were accused of crimes.

An NFL QB guilty of starting a strip club brawl isn't pissing all over Goodell's holy Shield?

You're probably right. He has his own standard. When they hired this MORON they should have assigned a board of directors comprised of owners to oversee this asshole!

I personally don't like the guy, but his article is NEWS and promotes discussion. :drink:

Goodell picks and chooses who he wants to admonish and I have the feeling a suspension of Young just aint gonna happen for more than one reason.

I think this boils down to VY not having any priors. Simple as that.

If Roger G. wants to set another warning for all the NFL players, he MUST suspend Young for 2 games IMHO. But I think it's not going to happen :=(
