Poll any number of Steelers fans about their teams biggest need leading up to April’s draft and I’d guess the majority of them point in the direction of cornerback — and that’s even if Ike Taylor re-signs before testing the open market. If Taylor leaves via free agency the position goes from being a need to something along the lines of Threat Level Midnight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbyUyDMlRwE). Absolute chaos.

Whether it’s in the first round or not, it’s a good bet the Steelers are going to address the cornerback position at some point in the upcoming draft. Going back to the selection of Chad Scott in 1997, the Steelers have selected 13 cornerbacks over the past 14 years with varying degrees of success. Here’s a round-by-round look back at each player.............

Isn't it funny how in that time span the best two CBs came for the 4th round? I still see a few CBs out side the 1st round that I think could be very good.

Sixth Round: Daryl Porter (1997) Who? Wasn't he a catcher?

LMAO  you aint kidding...pretty sad if you really think about it and hard to believe our defense consistantly stays up top year after year.

Along with Ike, we'll need at least 2 additional good shut down corners before we can have a reliable answer to the spread offense...

Basically, it seems like we'd better draft at least 6 CBs this year if we want to come out with one good one.

Nah. If it were Madden there would be one play that not even the All Time All Madden team could stop even if you called a defensive play specifically designed to stop the money play. And cheesers would be running that play every down.

Lol. Yea. 3 shutdown corners on one team...with Polamalu... in addition to the #1 run stop defense in the league... That's just too good to be true... only in "Never Never Land" huh... lol.
