The Steelers have several unrestricted free agents, but cornerback Ike Taylor is likely to attract the most attention from other teams.

A six-year starter, Taylor has never missed a game because of injury. He has started three Super Bowls and is among a handful of corners to have won two Super Bowls as a starter.

The Steelers still control Taylor's rights. They can use the transition tag on Taylor until 12:01 a.m. Friday, when he becomes a full-fledged unrestricted free agent. At that point, Taylor can sign with any team.

Tag Ike and be done with it if a contract can't be worked out right now. Imho - Ike is a must keep.

Hopefully they find a way to keep Ike. He is very important to the Steelers.

The team needs to make every effort to bring Ike back within reason. Yes, he does not have the best hands and does not rack up many INTs, but that is really his only weakness that I see. I really thought he deserved to have been voted to the Pro Bowl this past year. The stats of the particular receiver he covers are almost always meager in those games. Now, perhaps he is not really a great CB and teams just throw the other way because it is obvious there is such a big gap between Ike and the rest of the Steelers CBs so the stats are skewed. I still think Ike is one of the better CBs in the league though.

I think a 4 year deal in the neighborhood of 7 mil/yr is about the right contract.
