The Steelers probably will have to endure more than just a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XLV. There is a good chance they will lose several of their assistant coaches, including one of their coordinators, as well.

The most significant possibilities involve their coordinators -- Dick LeBeau and Bruce Arians -- each of whom is in the final year of his contract.

LeBeau is expected to return for his eighth season as coordinator in 2011, though not before another NFL team takes what might just be a whimsical run at his services.
But, the situation with Arians, the offensive coordinator since '07, is a bit more tenuous...............

Here we go once again with the "BA will be let go" rumors. My strong belief is that if BA isn't back next season as the Steelers OC, it will be because HE decided not to return due to health reasons. I don't think anyone - including Art II - can argue that the man did everything that was asked of him this season and our offense was more productive in key situations, not to mention the great job he did in Weeks 1-4 designing new plays specifically for first Lefty, then Dixon and finally Batch during Ben's suspension. I think BA did a great job this season personally.

Gawd I hate the offseason.

Didn't you see how badly our secondary played HTG? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how badly Kemo got beat causing a turnover? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how badly Mendy fumbled the ball from a perfect tackle? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad the field was-injuring our players? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad the seating was-that hundreds didn't get their seats? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad the weather was leading up to the SB? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad the economy is doing since Arians became OC? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad the riots in Egypt are? Of course we need to fire Arians for that!
Didn't you see how bad global warming is getting? Of course we need to fire Arians for that.

It's as plain as day!

Hard to argue with such logic.

Wow Whiz. Of all the steelers coaches and players you've taken or gone after, Bruce Arians isn't on the hit list yet?

Please take him away from us...

Question, if Arians does go, does it set our young WRs back having to learn a new system? We have great talented guys,I would hate to take a step back next season

Arians and LeBeau are both free agents aren't they? So who knows? It wouldn't shock me if both, one, or neither are back.
Do either deserve to be fired? No, but at the same token maybe sometimes you think some players need to hear a different voice to reach new levels. My money would be on them both coming back, but I wont turn in my Steelers card if I'm wrong either.

Bouchette? You mean the same Ed Bouchette who was left with a big ol' egg on his face last season when he reported Arians HAD been fired?

I don't believe for a minute that either Art II or Tomlin want BA to take a hike. Turnovers is what prevented us from mopping up the field with the Packers and you can't blame a coach for those. All in all, I feel BA did a fine job this season.

It might not have anything to do whether they thought Arians did a good job or not. It might simply be a matter of whether they think Ben needs to hear a different voice, whether they believe Arains has brought him as far a long the road as he's capable of, and now perhaps Ben needs a new direction and mentor? Again, I'm not calling for it, not saying it will or wont happen. I'm just saying it wont shock me, and if they change the status quo I can see the logic in it, just as I could with staying the course.
