The Steelers have placed center Maurkice Pouncey on injured reserve and signed guard Dorian Brooks to their 53-man roster.

Pouncey started every game this season but the Steelers ruled him out for the Super Bowl because of a high ankle sprain.............

I was hoping we would get another body for backup. The way the season has gone, we need bodies for the Oline.

Did they do anything similar with Smith?

That's what I was just thinking with Smith. He should be on IR too.

I hope he was getting lots of reps in at every position on oline this week.

Is the Current O-Line officially worse than 2008?

i'd say barely. both colon and starks are serviceable and better than scott for sure. kemo is still the same. i can't remember if our other guard was stapleton or not but i'd say he's about the same as foster. and i guess i'd say legursky is about the same as hartwig

They bothered because our line was down to the bare bones in the AFCC game and we need the bodies.

I'm going to go out on a limb here.

Brooks will be active over Hills and will be used in a Bronko package, springing Mendenhall for a TD near the goalline.

Tomlin said in the preseason that he is similar to Legursky in that regard.

Yepp... our o-line reached critical status in that game.

It still doesnt matter now...they can only dress 45 guys...usually they dress just 2 extra OL (i think 1 game they did dress 3)...theres a high chance of this guy not dressing...I see Essex (backup at EVERY position) and someone who can play tackle (probably Hills) get the nod. To dress a 3rd linemen they'd have to dress 1 less CB or someone like Battle which effects special teams. Now if there was more than 1 game left then OK...

I'd really rather see Battle sit and have an extra lineman. Seriously, just about EVERY game for the past 6 weeks, we've dressed 7 linemen and two have gotten hurt. Theres no reason to keep putting ourselves in such a risky situation, especially in the Super Bowl.
