I know this is posted late. Been a little lazy and focused on Sunday's game.

First Half

- Suisham's kicks were all pooch kicks. Not squibs but low liners that either bounced to Smith or didn't get to him at all. Worth pointing out one kick went out of bounds.

- That's back-to-back weeks we've had a delay of game on offense. Can't have it happen again. Turned a 3rd and 2 into a 3rd and 7.

- Heath constantly showed why he is arguably the best blocking TE in the league on our first drive. If you're a team that's going to draft a tight end that wasn't asked to block a lot, put on this tape and it'll highlight the importance of a well-rounded game. On Mendenhall's 8 yard see-saw run on the first drive, Heath is about the only guy to get a solid block and drives his defender into the ground. One the next play, one of my favorites from Heath, he combo blocks the DE and moves to the second level to get an excellent block on David Harris, one of the better ILBs in the league. Took him out of the play.

- Gay batted down a pass on a CB blitz as he's done all year.

- I think Hampton was picking up the snap count. I'm pretty sure Sanchez had said that the last time we played, we were picking up the snap count. Big Snack was getting a great jump off the ball all game long. He knocked Mangold on his butt once.

- We continued the Full House package as we did in the last meeting. Only difference was that we had the FBs in a three point stance instead of a two point as we did in Week 15.

- Mendenhall was going to get the first down if he would have caught the ball cleanly on the 4th and 1 interception.

- Going back to Heath, I think he has as much of a mean streak as anyone on this team. He always finishes his blocks and looks to pancake people.

- Keisel dropped back once, tipping a pass on 3rd down. Feels like he has more deflections than our CBs.

- Sanders has done a really nice job adjusting to passes. Lone 20 yard catch had him adjust inside to a pass that was supposed to be thrown towards the sideline.

- Ben's TD run was all because of the pre-snap motion. Great job by Arians on the design! Wallace motions from right to left pre-snap, sorta faking a jet sweep. Revis follows, running into Bart Scott who can't flow with Ben on the rollout. OLB is in a lose-lose. Take the back and let Ben walk in or take Ben and have #7 flip it to Mendenhall for the TD. - Rare for us to bring Ike and another corner on a blitz. But that's what we did on the fumble returned for a TD by Gay. Great time to call it and I have to give credit to the crowd on this one. Don't think the line picked up the blitz. Sanchez and the WR seemed to point it out but Ferguson doesn't.

- Definitely a sour note to go out on, allowing them to get three before the half.

Second Half

- Holmes' long TD. Motion by Hartstock was a big factor. Goes from split out to TE. Both safties creep up. Ike one-on-one, falls, Clark too shallow to get over in time. Pictures.

- Angle route by Moore on 3rd down. Used to use it a good bit, brought it back.

- Ben hadn't run that much in quite awhile.

- We did a much better job at defending the outside run this game than we did in Week 15 where they picked up a 3rd down late. This time when defending the sweep to the left, Farrior gets off block, Harrison gets penetration, and Farrior stops Greene short.

- Draw can be the most effective run play against us. Can counter a blitz or when our LBs drop back into coverage, which they do pretty quickly (Usually a strength but the mark of a good gameplan is using their strengths as weaknesses). Pictures.

- Just a simple slant/flat combo by the Jets with them running a pick on the slant. Holmes on the slant, Gay runs into Ike and Holmes. Easy separation for Cotchery. Picture.

- How appropiate is it that the game-clinching play came down to a scramble drill?

Sacks

1. 1st and 10, 2:52 left in 3rd: 3 TE, 1 WR. Scott takes his eyes off Pace for a moment and floats inside. May have peeked at David Harris who was on a blitz/man assignment depending on what the back did. Ultimately covered the back as he released. Jets rushed five on the play.

2. 3rd and 20. Shotgun, 3 WR, 2 RB. Rush four, three DL and a CB blitz. DT splits Legursky/Kemoeatu double team. The back didn't help as he moved outside to help the tackle.
