Michael Bloomberg took his dear old sweet time to pay off his debt to Mayor Ravenstahl, but finally hoisted a Terrible Towel onto the front facade of the main branch of the NYC public library.....love it!

The library was chosen for the towel because it was funded by Andrew Carnegie (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Andrew+Carnegie) - one of Pittsburgh's most famous residents.
Had Gang Green triumphed last week, a green-and-white fireman's helmet would have been placed on a Steel City landmark.
Later, Bloomberg donned a black jersey of Steelers receiver Hines Ward (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Hines+Ward) and assembled care packages for soldiers who recently returned from overseas.
The boxes will be sent to National Guard (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/The+Army+National+Guard) members from western Pennsylvania (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Western+Pennsylvania).

Good job, Mr. Mayor!

Maybe to you and the others who live in that area....but myself and a lot of people i know and have talked to about it who arent from around NY are like what? A library...haha. So yeah...guess it depends where you live as yo what you know and consider a major landmark there.

The NY Public library is a pretty well known landmark

I never for a second thought it would be something like the Statue of liberty

I live 4000 miles away on a different continent, and I consider it a well known landmark. So much so that it was on my 'must see' list when I was there in November. Its on 5th Ave in the most tourist-packed section of town.

I bet you have seen the lions outside the library in a million movies etc. yourself (Ghostbusters opening sequence?)
