Media Day is a circus, but it can be pretty cool for a reporter if you know where to sit. You just don’t have many other chances to speak with general managers and coordinators.

I learned plenty from Steelers offensive coordinator Bruce Arians Tuesday, who was a lot more colorful than I imagined. One year after a false report said he was fired, Arians was soaking in the experience and looking forward to shaving his beard next week.

“That’s what makes you enjoy this week so much: All those times getting your ass kicked,” Arians said in reference to the times he was fired as a college coach.Arians said he doesn’t let the criticism of his playcalling bother him, joking that Pittsburgh is only town in the league where the fans want the team to run the ball more even with a great passing game..........

hmm wonder if we win he is gonna ride off into the sunset? Sounds as though he has a good sense of humor even though the torches and pitch forks are already to chase him out of town.

I hope he's won everyone's respect at this point. Two Superbowl appearances in 3 years is no small feat, no matter how good your defense is.

Sounds like he hinted at retirement. Where's the ESPN radio guy to tweet that Arians is retiring before he is fired next season. :sarcasm: I love twitter.

Great job Bruce! Always been a supporter of you.

Me too! :applaudit:

If the Steeler do win #7 on Sunday, I wouldn't be surprised if BA retires. He's dealt with a lot medically over the last couple of years (along with being unfairly bashed) and he may just want to go out on the highest of highs! :tt02:

The players appreciate him, Tomlin appreciates him and the Rooneys appreciate him. That's really all that matters.

BA has deserved a lot better than he has gotten from some writers, and fans, maybe most writers and fans. If he retires it will be because he wants to, and that is the way it should be.

You have done us a good job Bruce. Thanks of the hard work.

Whoa, hold up there! Don't you think we need to send him to our nefarious "reeducation (brainwashing) program" to try and make him "see the light" first? :toofunny:

I've been an Arians critic, not backing down from it, but he's secretly done a nice job this year. Gotta give credit where it's due. The Offense is a lot more effective than it has been since those midseason debacles to New Orleans and New England.

Yes! Time to sing "Kumbaya" now! :grouphug:

But first I gotta go start 50 anti-Obama and Democrat-dissing threads in the Soapbox, since I've always been so political.

Nahhh! What's the fun in that? I'd much rather go hijack another completely unrelated thread with stupid pictures of thinly-veiled scatological/urinary/pornographic/homosexual references, just to show how cool I am! :yay3:

Ive never been a huge supporter of the offense BA runs but he knows what he is doing. But please please bring in a FB!!!!!! It will help Mendy out. Other wise its worked out and I hope he is here til Ben hangs up the Cleats in 20 years.

I'm sure Fichtner would have no problem running this offense if Bruce does retires

Hope he gives us one more season though
