The first time Tom Henschel went to the Super Bowl, it wasn't even the Super Bowl and more than 30,000 seats were empty.

Plus, tickets were cheap. Although his was free, the most expensive went for $12 — or about $78 today.

"Those games were for real fans," said Henschel, 69, a Natrona Heights native who splits time between Tampa, Fla., and Winfield, Butler County. "Nowadays, it's just wild. It's the biggest thing going."

Although Super Bowl I was unspectacular — at the time, it was known as the "First AFL-NFL World Championship Game" — Henschel has been to every one since. On Sunday, the diehard Steelers fan will attend his 45th — making him one of four members of the "Never Miss A Super Bowl Club."
