Jeremy Kapinos is familiar with the Steelers' Super Bowl opponent. He punted in 16 games for the Green Bay Packers in 2009 and in four games in '08.

Although he averaged 42.9 yards on 83 punts, the left-footed punter was not offered a contract this season by the Packers, the team the Steelers face next Sunday in the Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Kapinos had a one-game stint with the Indianapolis Colts before signing with the Steelers Dec. 7. He replaced Daniel Sepulveda, who tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee Dec. 5 against the Baltimore Ravens.

I'm sure both Sushi and Kapinos think they've died and gone to heaven being a part of this year's Super Bowl! Lady Luck definitely shined down on them. I've been pretty pleased with both of them and hope they play the game of their lives next Sunday! :tt02:

It would be poetic justice for Suisham if he-the kicker who was dropped from so many teams for missing clutch kicks-kicked the field goal that would win the game.

I dont think any of us predicted Reed would be cut and Sep would tear his ACL again. Kap and Sushi have been tremendous.

Didn't expect to be here? Hey, if you want to improve your chances of getting to the Superbowl, just join the Steelers. They should have expected it.

With the way Reed was kicking, I don't know if we would've made it to the Super Bowl without Sushi.

That's what I wondered. Glad we got some good Sushi!

Sushishamwow going to Dallas is eating at the Brokeback bandwagon fans. Kapinos might be a keeper if Danny's injuries keep hampering him.

I hope it doesn't come down to that. I don't think my heart could take it.
