The MVP of the Steelers’ first Super Bowl, had plenty of good things to say about the player who was arguably the MVP in the victory that is sending Pittsburgh to its eighth Super Bowl.
And Franco Harris had better than a front-row seat as he watched Rashard Mendenhall bulldoze the Jets run defense for 121 yards and a touchdown last Sunday.
Harris and Rocky Bleier served as honorary co-captains for the Steelers and were on the field for the Steelers’ 24-19 win over the Jets in the AFC Championship Game.
“He really ran hard the other night and made things happen,” Harris said of Mendenhall. “I feel that this will be a big motivational game to go into the Super Bowl with.”...............
