Emmanuel Sanders has been yapping about the Super Bowl (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Super_Bowl) since training camp last August to fellow wide receivers Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown.
Such talk would be out of character for most rookies — but not Sanders. To play in the 2011 Super Bowl would mean a personal homecoming game for him. Sanders spent the previous five years in Dallas playing football at SMU (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Southern_Methodist_University) before moving to Pittsburgh last April as a third-round draft pick of the Steelers.
“I told Mike and Antonio — ‘It’s in Dallas — let’s try to get there,’” Sanders said. “That’d be a dream come true. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to return to my college town and play in a Super Bowl.”
For the longest time, it appeared that if the Steelers did find their way to Cowboys Stadium (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/Cowboys_Stadium) on Feb. 6 as AFC (http://topics.dallasnews.com/topic/AFC) champions, it would be with Sanders and Brown serving as rookie cheerleaders on the sideline.....................
