The Green Bay Packers have come a long way since assuming their backs-to-the-wall position with two weeks to go in the NFL season.

But, back in September, Sports Illustrated's Peter King figured his pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers to be the team lined up opposite Green Bay in Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6 in Dallas was a long-shot.

I'm not the worlds biggest SI fan....but King could have made some coin on that prediction.

King is usually so far off on his predictions it isn't even funny. The blind squirrel found a nut for once.

Exactly. He went back to his lover, Marsha.

For those who would like to backpat me for picking Steelers 33, Packers 27 in the SI NFL preview issue last summer, I'd remind you that I'm the same guy who swerved over to pick the Patriots to win the AFC three weeks ago, as the playoffs began, and to face the Packers in the title game. So as much as I'd like to take a bow for nearly being right, and for having my two teams make it to Super Bowl XLV, I really can't.

Still a pretty remarkable pick considering many had us 3rd in the AFC North.

...of course, he also picked the Panthers to go pretty far also..... lol

We could have avoided playing the season. Next year, just let his two picks play in the SB. Yeah right!
