What about our short yardage guy in 08 was number 33 Gary Russell. In 2010 its 33 Issac Redman. 11 letters in each of their names.

OK, you guys got me believing. Same dominant defense, same mediocre Offense, same situation where the Colts and Patriots got knocked off by other teams in the playoffs. Might be same old NFC Wildcard team making it to the SB. All I can do is hope.

Yes, but don't forget... same dominant offense in the last 5 minutes of a game.

Actually, when you look at the stats at least, it isn't the same at all.

2008: 20th in points, 22nd yards 20th in 1st downs, 20th in pass attempts, 17th in Yds 18th in TD's 16 in INT's 20th in NY/A (All passing). For rushing, 9th in attempts, 23 in yds, 11 in TD, 29th in rush yards average, 15th in Turnovers.

2010: 12th in points, 14th in yards, 20 in 1st downs, 27th in pass attempts 14th in yards, 21 in TD's, 4th in INTS, 5th in NY/A (All passing). For rushing, 8th in attempts, 11 in yards, 8th in TD,s 18th in Y/A 4th in TO's

So, moved up 8 spots in points scored, 8 spots in yards, same in first downs, though I think that is misleading, as we were scoring on a lot more big plays. Notice also, pass attempts are actually down, almost the lowest in the league, but we are actually 3 places up, a tad above average in total yards. TD's are down in passing, but that is because we are up in rushing. INT's are extremely better. Average yards per attempt is a dramatic increase as well. Rushing, we continue to be in the top 3rd in attempts (so much for us being a pass first team), however, we are also 11th in yards, which is a dramatic increase, thank you Pouncey, and up in TD's. Turnovers all said and done have dramatically decreased.

IMO< this offense is not mediocre. We have struggled, but when you look at the last two games (heck, I'd even say the last three), you'll notice the offense really starting to hit its stride.

The defense has slipped a little bit in what they give up, but not much. The offense has more than made up for that amount of slippage (not blaming the defense, you can't expect them to play at the 08 level all the time).
