View Full Version : We Should Still Be Worried

Yes we should be relieved we aren't facing Brady, yes we will be at home...
BUT

This Jets team is dangerous. They've beaten Brady and Manning on the road in the playoffs back to back. The thing I am more worried about than anything though, is that even with our incredible rush defense, this team was able to run on us in the regular season.

Then this upcoming game will prove Ben>Brady and Manning.

Well, hopefully they won't allow Cromartie to interfere with Wallace with impunity this time around.

Of course we should. You should be worried about everyone you face.

The fact alone the the Jets beat us before should be evidence that the Steelers better not sleep on them.

Yeah I know but I'm sure many fans were looking at it as it will be way easier now.

I can think of a few fans that were hoping we could go to New England and get revenge on their field...

this guy = Dino 6 Rings.

but I'll take Tomlin and the Steelers in the AFC Title Game at home Vs Godzilla at this point...let alone...the Jets.

Yes I agree, but remember Greene was a huge factor in the win versus the Jets and obviously if we can shut him down and force the sub par Sanchez to pass and win we have a strong chance, yes they have excellent WR's, but pressure pressure pressure is the key!

We held up our end of it. Too bad they couldn't. F*ck the Pats.

And chances are Miller won't drop the passes that Spaeth did.

Did you see how big Brady's eye's got after that Cromartie on-sides return? That's when he *knew* it was over.

Yep. Not taking the Jets lightly at all. Don't think the team will either.

well, there is no doubt we match up better with the jets than the pats. jets are too emotional, that was their superbowl.

i want a steelers/bears superbowl; the packers are scary good on O. not looking past the jets, it will be a tough game. but all else equal we have the better QB ... by a mile.

01-16-2011, 07:07 PM
If I recall, last time we played the Jets, we were missing Polamalu and Miller, played a lousy game, and still almost won. Hopefully none of that going on this time. I like our chances.

SteelerFanInStl

We'll be ready for the Jets. Shut down the running game and keep the pressure on Sanchez. Oh, yea, and also remind the officials before the game that Cromartie isn't allowed to hold the WRs.

You guys also thinking we match up better vs. the Bears than the Packers?

Not that anyone should look ahead, but I still have to decide who to root for in the NFCCG.

quick guess on the line, steelers by 3-1/2

i put the line at Pats by 6 if they would have been playing us next week.

Hope for the Bears. Jets are tough and could beat us, but most are already putting the Steelers reluctantly in the Bowl that is Super. Lots of Patroit nut lickers on tv that look like a loved one just died.

I think he said "its personal...this is between Rex Ryan and Larry Foote!" This is gonna be a "polished nail biter". I think Rex better "Toe the line" a bit more this week.

I will be rooting for the bears regardless. As far as my least favorite teams in the NFL, Patriots are #1 and Packers are #2. Screw both of them and their stupid fans.

I think the Jets will be emotionally spent, they played their Super Bowl today. Yeah I know, they got as far last year, but still, the Patriots were their Everest this year. Notice the back flips and the way the celebrated after the game. Notice the way the Steelers won as though they had just played another game. It wont be easy, but the Steelers are the better team and are at home, and in the end they'll prevail.

I'm not worried. If we miss the superbowl this year, I have no regrets. Everybody had written us off before the season even started and we proved 'em wrong.

Pshhh!!! You sound like you're ready to hang it up! "Never be satisfied" is practically the mantra of this team.

Well that, and "Win ugly" :chuckle:

Let's go ALL THE FUCKING WAY. Is there a better way to give the whole world the finger for doubting us than hoisting a 7th Lombardi Trophy? I think not.

I'm not worried, because if they don't win, IMO it's still been a successful season. We've already had a thread where most thought the Steelers might not even make the playoffs, myself included. So just let it ride and hope for the best.

You hit it on the nail. I was thinking the same thing. If Ben wins where Tom brady and Peyton Manning failed, the top qb talks will begin again.

Im not sure Id bet on the Bears, Cutler has torched us the times hes played against us.

I think the Steelers are by far the better team overall plus the home field advantage. I say its not even close, 24-6 Steelers. Didnt Rex Ryan already call for a victory in his post game conference? he just cant stop stickin a foot in his mouth (sorry couldnt resist).

NJarhead
01-17-2011, 08:22 AM
They needed an opening kickoff return, a safety off our 3rd option at left tackle and the refs to turn a blind eye to holding our WR's to beat us by 5 points. Our Defense is #1 in points, #1 in passing and #2 in rushing (by one yard to the Bears). The Jets defense isn't in the top 5 in any of those three categories. There is no question that we CAN and SHOULD win this game.

I'd rather play against Cutler than Rodgers any day. Cutler makes mistakes. He gave the Seahawks an easy interception early in the game yesterday at the goal line and Babineaux dropped it. That could've been a different game if that ball was caught.

If Sanchize continues throwing like he did against the pats*, he will be picked by our D, heck even Ike can have a pick, lol.

In all seriousness, I'm not worried, of course I'm nervous but this time we'll have Troy and Heath and that gives me some peace
