Ward just said in his interview that Ben came up to him and said, "Its okay Ward, I was just trying to get them to use some timeouts."

Naa, that's funny all the time. Its nice to see Ben so relaxed in the middle of a stressful situation.

Me too. Matter of fact, my wife was looking at me quite strangely when I was saying, "no problem, don't score yet".

That was probably the best way that offensive series could have gone.

"hey is that John Candy over there"

Montana during the SuperBowl instantly calmed down his team.

That's Leadership. HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO!!!

"Hey, isn't that John Candy up in the stands.?"

Exactly, when you exude confidence, it helps the rest of the team calm down.

Who's a Ben hater here??

I don't think there is anyone here who doubts Ben as a QB.

I wasn't referring to anyone on this board, I was referring to fans of other teams. Sorry to confuse anyone. :sorry:

I think this is the most confident and poised I've seen Ben in all the years he's been our QB. He stared the Rats D in the face in the 2nd half and dared them to beat him and he won that dare hands down! I was absolutely shocked to hear Terry Bradshaw saying that Ben is "the best clutch QB in the league" but I couldn't agree with him more!

I'm a firm believer that things in each person's life happen for a reason. Ben needed a huge kick in the ass and got it and that adversity not only seems to have made him a better person, but should leave no doubt in anyone's mind that he is a truly elite NFL QB and a true leader.

HTG,

we have often disagreed when it has come to Ben off the field-and agreed when it comes to him on the field. However, here, I think you have hit the nail on the head totally and completely.

Been There...Done That...when you have to drive the length of the Field in the Super Bowl, after you Defense gives up the game leading TD with just under 2:40 left in the game...and you DO IT...you tend to have a bit of confidence regardless of the situation.
