I give my game ball to the ENTIRE PITTSBURGH STEELERS TEAM AND COACHING STAFF. :applaudit:  As I always say - NEVER - EVER - give up on this team. They showed guts, heart and character out there today against a damned good team and I'm so proud of them that I'm in tears right now. They refused to give up and took back the game that was theirs!!! :tt02: I love these guys and am just so proud to be a Steelers fan! :tt03:

For you couple of Negative Neds in the Game Day thread who basically gave up on this team in the first half - I'm cookin' crow burgers for you.

Honorable mentions go to Ben, Brown, Sanders, HELL - I could go on for hours!!!!

GO STEELERS! :tt02: :tt03:

Ryan Clark had the most consistant game. Mendy lost one and gave us two. BB was clutch in the second half. He may just be the greatest comeback QB in history. Definitely any Steeler. Ward also came up big.

*Thank God Dolphins' ownership screwed up the Clark signing.

How in the world do you single anyone out in this game? All you can do is choose who NOT to give it to.

O line.

However, a special mention has to go to Ben, Brown, Harrison,

And also, a special call out: welcome to the big show...

Defense throughout the game and in the second half Ben made some great plays to a hell of a set of receivers. Both coordinators called a good game.Didn't like Tomlins second challenge but the way we made the 4th down conversion gets him an honorable mention.

We really need to trade Sanders. He is either going to be a bust, or he is going to be too good and we won't be able to pay him!

What a choice, Sanders, Ward, the coaches?

I think I am going with Mendy. He got that last TD on guts alone. He had to get it, and he did.

Yep, and yep.

I was thinking about that during the game. When you think Ravens, you think Suggs, Ngata, etc. etc. When you think Steelers, you think Steelers D. The biggest different, one is a team playing a game, the other is a bunch of individuals playing a game.

The D gets my game ball. They turned this game around after the O faltered on the first drive of the second half. It is just amazing that different guys are stepping up on different plays. We have a solid team when we get our heads in the game and minimize our mistakes.

Hope the Oline can get well by next week.

That was a particularly sweet and satisfying win.

Truly a tale of two halves.

Hard to single one guy out (or even 2 or 3 guys out) - A team effort indeed. Too many different people came up huge at different times. Ike Taylor, Mendy, Ben, Silverback, Brown . . . just really impressed all around.

Really happy to see Mendy produce as our goal line back at crunch time - and when we needed him . . . he delivered.

Good job men . . . now, lets get ready for the JETS!

Ok, I"m home from the bar....... man oh man did the roof blow off that place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh so sweeeeeeeet!

I'm so wound up I can't even think who gets the game ball. The second half, everybody gave their all and defended our house!!!! Ben....wow, wow, wow. Is that guy calm under pressure!! Ben on offense, who else? 3rd and 19 against one of the best defenses in the league? No problem. Game, set, match Steelers.

Defense, Silverback. 3 sacks! Holy shit Batman!

Also I think Suisham deserves some consideration for special teams game ball. Yeah, I know, he missed the fg at the end of the half, but give him credit, without that tackle the game starts out 7-0 bad guys one play in.

I had to work and had the game on the computer ( NFL.com). When we started off 7-0 and then quickly fell off to 21-7 ... I rebooted the computer thinking something locked up for a long period to have the score jump so quickly. Then when I read the play-by-play list and saw how the turnovers were the cause I thought....poor fans in the stands ! Then to see how the 2nd half mounted the come back for the Black/Gold.....every team member doing his job, and players that were never used making big plays. I have to agree with you HTG.....the TEAM BALL has to be cut up in pieces for ALL. This was truly a TEAM EFFORT if there ever was one. Defense for holding them to just 3 pts in the 2nd half.....and OFFENSE for scoring in the RED ZONE !! Congrats !! And now I'll be cheering for the Jets....again I have to work Sunday so the computer will be fired up. I hate the Pats and I would love for us to beat them....but sorry, the blood pressure med is running low and I can't have booze here at work ! And I want that # 7 trophy and the easiest way to get it works for me.... LOL

Special ball to the fans of Heinz field. Also, special mention to the guy who played the Renegade tape near the beginning of the second half. Even Dumbdorf commented on it on TV. It seemed like it really juiced the D, the crowd and the O. And I think it made Flacco a little nervous. Way to get into their heads. :tt02: :tt03:

I'll throw a name out there for discussion....Scottie Montgomery, the WR coach. Young guy, hired by Tomlin this year. I gotta admit, I questioned the hire (like I'm an expert or something :) ) I'm impressed with our young WR's this year, as is everyone else. You gotta think he's been a big factor in what Wallace, Manny, and Antonio have done this year.

I have to give it to the entire team.

7SteelGal43
01-16-2011, 10:29 AM
I'd have to give it to Ben only because when ya look at it, these two teams are mirror images of each other pretty much. Same style of football (especially on D) hard hittin smash-mouth football. The biggest difference is at the QB position. Ben has that intangible that Flacco just doesn't seem to have. Ben steps up and delivers, Flacco folds like a pile of clean laundry.

That being said, that was a solid effort last night on BOTH sides of the ball. They didn't just pack it in after the first half. They played their hearts out and now we going the AFCCG, baby . YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
