How many of you really....I mean REALLY believed we would win the AFC North, earn 2nd seed and a first round bye after hearing:

1. Ben gets suspended for the first 4 games
2. The Rooney's trade away our Super bowl MVP WR
3. Willie Colon goes on IR before training camp even starts and we sign Flozell Adams
4. Both Byron and Dixon have knee injuries and all we are left with is Charlie Batch
5. Max Starks goes on IR
6. Aaron Smith is injured and never plays another regular season game in 2010
7. Our O line is a revolving door and is anchored by a rookie center
8. James Harrison is personally funding NFL charities single handedly

How many of you ever thought today would ever happen??????

Not me. I predicted us to go 9-7 and at best, get a Wildcard spot.

Little off on that one.

That 3-1 start was huge. Tomlin held the team together and the defense stepped up early.

I can't wait for the playoffs.

I'll take it. I predicted 10-6 and would've been happy with that.

I believed from the beginning. Just could not see this team having two disappointing seasons in a row. Believe it, and it will happen! :tt02:

I figured 10-6 at best. But as usual, I'm more than happy to be wrong when I doubt the Steelers.

I predicted 11-5 or 12-4...probably winning the division (but figured it'd be a 3 way dance between Steelers, Ravens and Bengals).

I did not. I had them at 10-6 and possibly a wild card. I had the Ravens winning the division and the Steelers coming in second followed by Cleveland and then the Bungles. I felt that we would go 3-1 in the first four, losing to Baltimore. I definitely called that. Did I believe it? Yeah, but I would've been happy at 2-2 as well.

THe Holmes thing pissed me off at first, but Wallace is Holmes only better and he proved it this season. He's bigger, stronger and faster than Holmes. However, Holmes, Wallace, Ward and Miller...HOLY SHIT...add Sanders to the mix and fuck...Ben's throwing for 5000 and Mendenhall is a dud...lol.

Losing Aaron Smith scared the shit out of me...still does...glad to read that he's hitting it hard trying to make it back by the playoffs...two more weeks of rehab!

lol...if he was half the player Sanders is...ridiculous. Could you imagine if he gets on track?

Ward, Wallace, Sanders, Brown and Sweed...that's strong if Sweed can do something to warrant where he was picked...

I didn't - I also had them at 10-6 with a shot at a wild card. To me, this season has been almost as satisfying as the 2008 season with all of the adversity they had to overcome. If they don't win the SB, this has still been a successful season, IMO.

I belived, I didn't think it would be an easy feat, but I thought we had the talent to accomplish it.

I predicted the Steelers to go either 10-6 or 11-5 with either us or the Ravens winning the division. Feels good to be back on top.

I had us at 10-6 or 9-7 and maybe an outside shot at a wild card. If we got healthy and Ben had his head on straight, maybe we would get a push into the playoffs. I did think we would win it all in 2-3 years. However, I am pleasantly surprised to get 12-4 and we get a bye into the playoffs.

Now it is up to us to play like champions the rest of the way.

I'll do better than that...

I say 3-4 in the first 7,

12-4 for the season. Yes, I believe we run the table starting with the Bengals. Our rookies receivers will start clicking with the offense, and Pouncy's rookie mistakes will have already been corrected Yes, I believe the kid is going to be that good for some reason). Ben will cause a loss or two in the first three games. That is simply because he won't be quite up to gamespeed yet, or used to the speed we have at receiver now. However, we will hit our stride, and Ben will be Ben, pulling last minute drives, wins, and "how in the world did he make that pass" plays out of his rear-end. Redman will turn into a grind the clock wrecking ball 4th quarter RB, and yes, we will be cursing Adams all year (well, you all, not me-:chuckle: I just wont be happy!)

Ok let me try this.

1. Despite the Bull Shit decision by the NFL to suspend Ben I knew we damn near won with Dixon last year against the ratbirds so still had faith, also we have won with both Lefty and Charlie.

2. Despite hating the decision to trade Santonio for a 5th rounder we still have Wallace, HEATH, and my man Hines Freakin' Ward!!! Not to mention we have one helluva D still not worried

3. Oh Crap are we desperate or what NOT FLOZELL his penalties will kill us. Eatin' crow on this one but damn happy about it.

4. See the #1 answer we can still do this

5. Glad we drafted so many LB's in the damn draft...can any of them play on the o-line???

6. Love Aaron and losing him makes me nervous but we can still do this, but it will be a lot tougher.

7. A starting rookie center says a helluva lot if the organization has faith in him he's got to be someone special!!! Like this a lot!!!

8. Now this...Is there any doubt we are going to win??? Piss off James and the D and tell us we have to change the way we play. Go To Hell Godell!!! This was the spark that ignited the Flame!!!

I predicted 11-5, based on a 3-1 start. I thought Ben would go 8-4 in his 12 games but he went 9-3. Better than what I expected.

With Ben being out those first 4 games, and the defense struggling last yr to keep leads I was hoping for 9-7, 10-6, but when we started 3-1 (which was huge) i thought we could get to 10-6. All I wanted was to make it as a wildcard then all bets are off once we got in. But ill take 12-4 but the bye is the most important thing that we got get healthy.

I had them at 10-6. I thought 2-2 through the first 4, but they surprised me there and over the last few weeks, with the exception of the jets game, they started dominating teams.

I believed the Steelers would go 10-6 or 11-5 and get a wild card especially after I knew we were going to lose Ben for the first 4 games. This team has amazed me from Game 1 on and really stepped up to the plate when the chips were down. I'm sooooo damned proud of 'em!

As much as I think Batch sucks as a QB, I have to give him props as he did what had to be done to help to get those 3 wins in those first 4 Ben-less games. :drink:

#9. Reed cut and we pick up Swish um. I can't believe this one, ok I was wrong about Flozell but Swish um??? Seriously??? We can't do a little better than this???

I predicted we would go 2-2 without Ben and 11-5 on the season. The difference was the win against Tennessee, had we not won that game, I would have been right, because I was right on all the other wins and loses.

I just had the gut feeling that the team would come together and not let anything stop them, and thats exactly what they did.

I've always believed, so I can honestly say that I expected this to happen and for us to be in the playoffs, being the 2 seed is a nice bonus.

I am a fan that believes 100% every season, we have what it takes to make the playoffs and once in the playoffs, have what it takes to compete for a Super Bowl Title.

I am "The Standard is The Standard"

But it is a nice way to end the regular season, with a bye week and a home game as the 2 seed. Very nice START.

I thought we had a pretty good chance, because none of the other teams in the division really scared me very much. We showed in 2008 that we can win even if the offense sucks, so that's what I was hoping for. All the offensive line injuries didn't worry me much either, because let's face it, it's not like those guys were Pro Bowlers to begin with.

Getting the #2 seed, though? That surpassed my expectations, I have to admit.

I figured that we were probably going to get a Wild Card behind the Ravens and probably go 10-6 or 11-5. I never thought the the Bengals would be in it (they have their fluke year every few where they win something and then revert back to reality) I wasn't overly concerned about not having Ben for the first 4 games, I thought it would get the D riled up and give us reason to get the running game back on track. We were only a full season removed from the Superbowl, so I knew we still had the people to have a good season. We and the Ravens are in similar boats right now, we both have teams that the offenses are a good chunk younger than the defenses and the defenses need to youth going forward.
