FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau marveled at how Tom Brady's passes sliced through a Soldier Field blizzard as if he were facing the Chicago Bears on a sun-splashed September day.
That 36-7 rout Sunday epitomized Brady and coach Bill Belichick's 11-2 New England Patriots at their winterized best, with Brady throwing for a season-high 369 yards with two touchdowns despite 30- to 50-mph wind gusts.
"To do what Brady did in those weather conditions in Chicago? That might be one of the most outstanding quarterback performances — ever," said LeBeau, 73, a cornerback and coach for 51 years whose defense was lit up by Brady 39-26 on Nov. 14. "He's doing it every week.
"But it's not the same in a blizzard. He's remarkable."
