Troy Polamalu made another signature play on Sunday night when he came flying off the edge and did a superman tomahawk to Joe Flacco’s blindside, forcing the fumble that would ultimately swing the game in the Steelers favor.

The question that has to be asked (and has been asked by many, including Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs): How the hell did nobody account for the best player on the Steelers defense?
The answer: Dick LeBeau is crazy like a fox.

Greg Easterbrook writes the Tuesday Morning Quarterback column for ESPN’s Page 2 and talked about this play in his latest 80,000 word novel (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/101207_tuesday_morning_quarterback&sportCat=nfl). In it, he describes LeBeau’s defensive system as “choreography and confusion.”.................

Watching now, going back over the camera angles and seeing what Flacco got to see before the play, he really had NO SHOT of getting out of there unless he stopped everything and audibled. He looked left, Troy is 7 yards away, he looks right and Troy starts sliding closer, Harrison shifts to the inside just as Flacco centers himself and his view forward and Troy comes the rest of the way to the line. Troy was at the line for only a single second when the ball was snapped and got to Flacco in only a second and a half. Just a great play. Suggs made it sound like everyone was just sitting there looking at Troy on the line...they're full of shit. He wasn't there, he was there, he was planting Flacco. All in a span of about 3 seconds.

He has great closing speed and is very clever.

I see some (accidental) helmet to helmet contact on that play...That's a 50,000.00$ fine for Troy, a 25,000.00$ fine to Harrison for being part of the play, & 2 first round draft picks for the Patsies.:eyebrows:

I just wish it was more confusing to the patsies and Tommy Bieber
