PITTSBURGH -- Jeremy Kapinos' resume has everything the Steelers want in a new punter.

He has at least full one season of NFL experience under his belt. He knows what it’s Iike to kick in cold weather climates. Plus, he performed well under pressure Tuesday and won a two-man tryout against Ricky Schmitt.

“He’s a guy who met the criteria that we’re looking for,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “He represented himself nicely in the workout. So we have a nice, stable body there (in Kapinos). We’re excited about having him in the fold and moving forward with him as our punter.”

And that is a huge plus the Steelers will need. It's not easy punting in cold weather and you can always notice that in punters who play for warm climate teams.

I think we'll be just fine with Kapinos. What better way to prepare him for Pittsburgh winter weather than have him kick in Green Bay? Of course, anyone's gotta be better than what we had the last time Sepulveda went down.
