Dee-fense. Finally.
The Steel (nee Saran Wrap) Curtain finally added opportunism to statistics Sunday night in the Steelers’ smash-and-grab victory at Baltimore. Troy Polamalu smashed, LaMarr Woodley grabbed and the Steelers’ Paleozoic offense did just enough to score.
One more stop, and it was over. The Ravens never knew what hit them.
Nothing to brag about aesthetically, but regular-season victories don’t come much more important. The Steelers are in the driver’s seat for AFC North superiority and the first-round playoff bye which surely accompanies. A week off certainly wouldn’t hurt the Steelers in regard to dealing with the avalanche of injuries currently engulfing them.
This just in: A newspaper reports that Ben Roethlisberger was shot three times behind the right ear. The Steelers say no, Ben just has a little headache.................
