With punter Daniel Sepulveda out for the rest of the season, the Steelers will work out Penn State graduate Jeremy Kapinos tomorrow at Heinz Field, the Tribune-Review has learned.

Kapinos punted in one game for the Indianapolis Colts this season, averaging 44.5 yards on four kicks and putting two of them inside the 20-yard line.

A third-team All-American for Penn State in 2006, Kapinos was the Green Bay Packers’ punter last season and averaged 43.8 yards per kick.

Sepulveda tore the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee in the Steelers’ 13-10 win against the Ravens when his cleat got caught in the turf at M&T Bank Stadium.

Sepulveda got hurt while trying to make a tackle on Lardarius Webb’s 35-punt return early in the second quarter.............

Is Mitch still available???

Hey we won a Superbowl with him, and I'll never forget that punt that hit the charger in the head and we recovered. Don't know how he knew that guy would be at that exact spot but I loved it!!!

BRING BACK MITCH!!!

He got beat out by Berger for the job in 2008, so I'm guessing no. Hope the kid from PSU had a good try out, and gets the job.

lol, I think he did that about 3 times in all that season. The old shank it short and roll it up the back of some poor unsuspecting upman's backside trick. :sofunny:

Don't forget, he ALSO got beat out by Ernster. Then they chose Berger when they release Ernster.

I hope who ever they bring in is a decent punter. It would be nice to see a guy come in and stick it inside the twenty for us.

I say we don't sign a punter, they represent failure.

Just think how much better Ben will do if you give him 33% more of a chance each set of downs in order to get a first down.

As long as James Harrison never has to fill in as Long Snapper Ever again. They could bring the 7up Dot in as punter. http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c138/LadyOtaku/smileys/party_06.gif
