Rivalry week for the Ravens and Steelers has brought us the latest example of Joe Cool being Joe Cool.

Flacco joined our Randy Moss for an interview Thursday to discuss the emotions involved in facing the Steelers, and he was asked if players have to guard against getting too hyped for the game............

Flacco, one of the players the rules are designed to protect and thus one of the most likely to condone them, sided with the sentiments of many players when he said he doesn’t fault Harrison for his aggressive style.

“I wouldn’t like to get fined, so I don’t like to see fellow players get fined,” Flacco said. “He’s out there playing football, and he’s doing what he’s been taught to do his whole life. This is a vicious game … you’re out there not to hurt people, but to hit people pretty hard. If they get hurt, that’s what happens. It’s kind of tough to see a guy get fined that much money for doing his job.”

That is a real douche comment.

Probably 99.999% of NFL players think Harrison's fines are a joke. As do the vast majority of fans. The only people who think the fines are okie-dokie are Goodell and some announcers who don't have the cojones' to say different.

What the hell would Flaccid say, "Oh, yeah, Harrison is a dirty player and he should be fined??" before the biggest game of the year. Of course, most of the NFL (including the Ravens players who spoke out) thinks Harrison is getting a raw deal. All I was saying is Flaccid isn't dumb enough to put bulletin board material for a big game like this. I was giving Flaccid the benefit of the doubt and I was also being a smart ass.

We will see. I am fully expecting at least 2 roughing the eyebrow penalties on Harrison.

I give Flacco credit for his comments. He knows that Deebo can hit and hit hard, and all the man is saying is, "That's football." I give Flacco respect for that comment, although on Sunday I really hope he gets to enjoy a few of those hits (minus the flags)

Flacco is simply being a guy with his head screwed on straight, and being honest about what he feels. I thank and applaud him for that.

He could have simply declined to comment, or stated that it is difficult to judge between safety and the game, and left it there, or even just state, "its not my place to say."

Instead, he actually spoke up against Der Kommissar... thus taking his name of the list for good of "protected QB's."

Sad but most likely true. Ben had his name taken off that list a longgg time ago, for whatever reason.

You mean like Chris Collinsworth?! That's the only sad thing about Sunday night, listening that wind bag talk incessantly about a game he knows absolutely zero about. I'd rather hear a Steelers fan and a ravens fan call the game Sunday night...as much fighting as they'd do, it would at least contain more football knowledge than collinsworth.

Flacco,

Thanks for backing our guy, you're alright in my book other than the fact that you play for the Ratbirds. I hope you get the shit knocked out of your tomorrow night however, because you are a Ratbird.

Sincerely,

^^This.

:applaudit: and :drink: to Flacco for his candor. I've always believed Flacid to be a class act even amongst those purple pricks (Sorry Crow ;)) and this only reinforces that opinion.

Doesn't really surprise me that Flacco answered the way he did. Now if the Pantywaist Pansy from NE would say this, then you have a story. Player after player have come out in Harrison's defense, both on offense and defense. OH, what do they know, they only play the game.

Brady probably plays a drinking game every time Harrison is fined.

"Oh goody! Another $25,000.00! Giselle! Mix me another Cosmo!"

if Flacco really thinks that way lets see if he pick up any flags thrown on Harrison and hand it back to the ref and say we decline that call ....
