I wonder if Favre will stick it out? It really would be in the interest of the team if he left it and gave them another shot at evaluating Tavaris Jackson.

Was bound to happen sooner or later. Now they gotta bench Favre and plan for the future.

Agreed, but I think they need to go one step further and cut him loose, because that drama queen will more than likely call a press conference and pitch a giant shitfit to the media if they do bench him. That's the last thing that organization needs at the moment.

The Vikings followed the Cowboys footsteps, wait until the 7th loss to fire the coach

The Bengals haven't imploded and they're doing just well enough to keep the fans on board (last season speaking). Some owners are more concerned with ticket sales than winning. As long as Lewis is good enough to keep the seats full, that's probably good enough for them.

Leslie Frazier is a "hot name" in coaching right now. It makes sense for the Vikings to make this move to see if they want to hire this guy full time because he will be the head coach of an NFL Team going into the 2011 Season. Better to see how well he can handle your situation before some other team snags him up.

Cowboys, Vikings, Panthers, Bengals, Texans, will all be looking for coaches. Chances as well that the Chargers, 49ers, and Titans may make moves this off season. And god forbid if the Bears miss the playoffs. Lovie will be gone. And if the Jags blow their AFC South lead and miss the playoffs, I could see Del Rio being shown the door.

so there are going to be some openings, sure, the names, Cowher, Gruden, Billick will all get mentioned, but there are going to be more than 3 jobs at the end of the year. So Frazier will be getting an offer.

I agree, but Frazier needs to win and show that he can win to mabye get the Vikings job long term. I think he ends up keeping Favre and trying to get as many wins as he can with him. Jackson gives the Vikings almost no chance of winning.

Besides, I hope Favre can go out with at least 30 INT's in his final season.

This move was long overdue. And Tavaris Jackson played well with reasonable enough playing time the last couple of years didnt he? I say give the guy a shot!

He's been to the playoffs twice. That's a huge achievement in Cincy.

I can see Frazier benching Favre. It wasn't Frazier that begged for Favre to come back, and I don't think Frazier gives a shit about the streak.

He is going to stick with Favre for now, but if the play at the QB position doesn't get better Frazier won't have second thoughts about benching Favre. Everyone knew that when Chilly threatened it, the threat was completely empty. But if and when Frazier threatens it, the benching will happen.

Leslie Frazier will be a full-time head coach in the NFL in 2011. It may not be with the Vikings, but he will be running a football team.

Without a doubt bench his ass. I respect the hell out of the guy for the hits he takes and still comes back but we all know he's not coming back. So if there is no chance of post season, and you know your QB isn't coming back then you sit his ass and plan for next year.

What have you seen that makes you say that? The little I've seen of him didn't look that bad.

I can't believe that it took this long now the only thing they need to do is bench Farve and get ready for the future. They have let the Farve drama go on for to long.

What have you seen that makes you say that? The little I've seen of him didn't look that bad.

Jackson went 10-10 as a starter, was benched in 2008 in favor of GUS FREROTTE and blew the Vikings game against the Eagles in the '08 Playoffs. Looking at Minnesota's offense, any compotent quarterback could thrive in their system. Tavaris Jackson was averagely average as a starter and Brett Favre caught lightning in a bottle in 2009 and showed just how good their offense can be.

If I were Vikings owner Zygi Wilf, I might be willing to give Jackson another shot in 2011 but I would also try to trade up to draft a QB like Luck or Locker.

I don't think Childress was the problem with that team - Favre is. He's sucked major ass all season and throws the ball to the Vikes opponents more than he does to his receivers it seems. :jerkit:

Doesn't the owner of the Bengals only care about the revenue coming in? Sure, he wants to win but ONLY for the money. To him, as long as they show a profit, who's to care about the coach.
