Steelers' James Harrison may be fined again
PITTSBURGH — Steelers coach Mike Tomlin didn’t confirm or deny a media report that linebacker James Harrison will be fined for third time this season.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Harrison will be fined for his hit on New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees that resulted in a roughing-the-passer call in Sunday’s 20-10 Saints win over the Steelers.
Harrison was penalized for hitting Brees from behind after Brees threw the ball.
“I don’t know that he’s going to be fined or if there’s been any kind of discussion so I’m not going to speculate on that,” Tomlin said today at his weekly press conference. “I have not received any information of that nature. He was penalized on the play. We accept that and move on.”
Harrison was fined $5,000 for his hit on Tennessee quarterback Vince Young and $75,000 for his hit on Cleveland wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi earlier this year.
This afternoon when asked if Harrison will be fined again, AFC information director Corry Rush said “I cannot confirm that report right now.”
