Dome not sweet for the Steelers

PITTSBURGH — After playing in the Superdome for the first time, Ben Roethlisberger said he’s never heard anything like it.

“It’s a tough place to play, probably the loudest place I’ve ever been in to play a game,” he said.

The Steelers lost to the New Orleans Saints, 20-10, in the Superdome Sunday night it which a capacity crowd was especially fired up.

The Steelers were in town for a game featuring the past two Super Bowl champs. At 4-3, the Saints desperately needed a win. It was a prime-time game, and it was Halloween to boot.

“It was a hostile environment for us,” coach Mike Tomlin said. “The fans were really into it. We knew this was going to be a tough place to play. I was hopeful that we’d perform better than we did.”
