When the Steelers arrived at work on Monday there was plenty to look at on film, after a 20-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints (http://www.neworleanssaints.com/).

The loss dropped the Steelers to 5-2 on the season, tied with the Baltimore Ravens (http://www.baltimoreravens.com/) in the AFC North for best record, but you won’t see anyone pushing the panic button.

“We know all of the mistakes, the plays we left on the field,” said wide receiver Hines Wardhttp://www.steelers.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.steelers.com/team/roster/hines-ward/8a520076-6343-42ce-a89f-28a7dc97c67a/). “We are going to learn from them and move on. It was rough. They brought a lot of looks and schemes. We didn’t help the cause. We left a lot of plays on the field.

“There’s no need to panic. We have a terrific football team. This is just one loss and now we have to prepare for Cincinnati.”..............................

...........And while the fumble eventually led to a Saints touchdown, players know it was more than one play that cost the game.

“We are never going to fault Heath for extra effort,” said Ward. “We left a lot of plays out there. We win as a team, we lose as a team.”

No need for panic. Learn from that loss...Top to Bottom. THey had plenty of opportunities to win that game and win it easily. They let it go...

A couple of people on this board need to follow their lead.

I know there are some who are scared to death because of what happened last year, but that was LAST YEAR. Different team, different season. One loss does not mean they are headed for a tailspin, and it's absolutely ridiculous to assume so.

Yupp the title of this thread speaks for itself. We go back and watch the film, practice hard and correct them. Losing to an NFC team doesn't mean much when your 5-2. What matters is next week against a division rival, and believe me we will be ready!

Every team has at least 1-2 games like that where nothing seems to be going their way. It happens. Luckily we're still in excellent shape, and like the article said - no need to panic.

when will arians figure out how to combat blitzes? i doubt he practices/prepares against blitzes. after all, up until this season he never prepared the team to go against 3-4 defenses.

I see not reason to panic we are not going to win them all even though I would like to think we will.

I was very happy with Ben's response to the loss. He seemed to be in control and understood what caused the loss. I was starting to worry a little bit, but Ben's understanding of the situation put those worries to rest. I have a feeling that this loss could be a good thing since it clearly pointed out a flaw in the offensive scheme. One that can be corrected.

While I feel it was a very winnable game, if we come out of this road stretch at 2-1, this will be the best one of the 3 to lose. Not that we can look past an AFCN rival. This next one I feel is very important.

I never was in panic mode and I've put the loss behind me and am looking ahead to next week's divisional matchup with the hated Bungles. The game is over, we lost and all of the gnashing of teeth in the world isn't going to change its outcome. I have no doubt whatsoever that our Steelers will go into this Sunday's game fired up, pissed off and ready to kick some Bungle ass. :tt02:

if teams were smart they would press the WRs and send major blitzes. the steelers have yet to prove they are anywhere close to beating it.

Unfortunately the Steelers have learned very little in this regard. I'm not pressing any panic buttons, but they have shown few (if any) adjustments when faced with constant blitzing. Marvin Lewis may not be smart enough to try it, but you can damn well believe that Belicheck will be bringing the heat in 2 weeks.

For years the Steelers have had trouble handling the heavy blitz. I don't know why opponents don't do it more. Arians and Ben have no answer for it, even though the answer is staring at them right in front of their faces.

No need for panic, but a definite need for some adjustments to be made.
