The Steelers’ James Harrison was fined $75000 for this hit on Cleveland wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi two weeks ago as part of the league-wide crackdown on helmet-to-helmet hits. Looks like Harrison’s wallet will be getting even lighter this week following his hit on Drew Brees in the Saints’ 20-10 win over the Steelers Sunday night.

Harrison received a personal foul call on the play. Considering how closely he’s being watched by the league, expect further punishment to be handed down in the next day or so.

He planted his facemask in his upper back no helmet to helmet I see there. If anything the top of James helmet grazed the back of brees. Its starting to become bull.

Face mask to the back no biggie.

Now can you show the real helmet to helmet on Hines???

If he ducks a little then it's spearing. Ticky tack call IMHO just like Ward's, but of course it will be blown way out of proportion, especially on a loss. Good way to boost ratings and dump on the B&G.

There's no reason for Harrison to get fined for that hit but I'm sure that he will, especially when ESPN is showing it at halftime of MNF and saying that he hit Brees in the back of the helmet.:jerkit: The NFL should be so embarrassed by the lack of holding being called on that play that they just let it go.

Another dumb ass fine coming guaranteed. Up yours Goodell.

I fear that Harrison is suspended since Goodell is a moron.

This in a weekend, where they called a roughing the passer against Miami and 49ers for a "Finger" to the helmet. Once again the league officiating has NO consistency, seems like business as usual.

Thats a load of crap if they do fine him. There was nothing wrong with how he hit him. Yes it was a slightly late hit...but not by much.

He should not be fined for a late hit but Goodell will turn it into helmet/helmet so he can suspend him plus a fine. Got to send that message you know! The message is: "I am single handedly ruining the NFL and there is nothing anyone can do about it"!!!

If Harrison gets fined/and or suspended for that hit, then it will further cement in my mind that the NFL is a complete joke. The only thing wrong with that hit was that it was late.

I saw Brees starting to take off with Harrison in pursuit. Brees' forward motion was slowed/stopped by running into Hampton, thereby causing Harrison to hit him harder than he would have if he had caught him from behind while running. God, I'd almost consider the hit incidental! Any fine consideration is complete bull.

Troy made eye contact with Brees several times during Sunday night's game. :horror: Ruh-roh - here comes Goodildo with his tally card and cash register. :jerkit:

There was nothing wrong with Harrison's hit on Brees and I'm sure Drew would be the first to state that fact.
